Omny Studio acquired by Triton Digital
It’s a call for celebration; YBF Ventures members, Omny Studio have been acquired by Triton Digital.
Omny Studio team are the world’s most advanced podcast and on-demand audio publishing platform. Omny is used by just about every leading radio station and podcasting network around the globe including Cumulus Media, Entercom, Mediacorp, Southern Cross Austereo, Corus Entertainment, Mashable, Arabian Radio Network, Mamamia, and YBF Ventures’ own podcast — People Building Businesses.
YBF has been a part of the Omny Studio journey since the startup’s inception. As the first investor, YBF provided seed funding to get Omny going and over the years YBF has been instrumental in everything from mentoring, financing to curated business introductions.
Working side by side
The Omny Studio team was based out of YBF Ventures, back when it was known as the York Butter Factory and for many years, sat right next to the YBF team.
Omny did move into their own premises for a while, but couldn’t stay away from the buzzing YBF community. When YBF brought on a new CEO, and expanded to a new 3,100 square-metre headquarters in Melbourne’s CBD, Omny returned to the fold and currently work just a few offices away from the YBF team.
Sharon Taylor, Omny Studio’s CEO (check her out here on WIRED UK), is a force to be reckoned with and was brought into the company by YBF Co-founder, Darcy Naunton, first as the company’s COO. Sharon proved to be an extremely capable leader and was swiftly appointed as the CEO. She is one of the key reasons Omny has been so successful. Her ability to navigate through rough waters and execute a successful turnaround is what has brought Omny to this exciting point in time.
Driving the global audio industry
Sharon says, “Triton Digital has been driving the growth and innovation of the digital audio industry for the last 13 years, and we are excited to be joining forces to further expand our global footprint and the adoption of our unequalled technology around the world.”
“We share a passion and a mission to provide publishers with the most comprehensive technology in the market, and look forward to working as part of the Triton family to drive the global audio industry forward.”
YBF Ventures’ CEO Farley Blackman has nothing but praise for Sharon and the Omny team: “I’m grateful for Sharon Taylor’s leadership. She has created real value for Omny shareholders. I am also proud of YBF Ventures and the role that we have played in getting this startup off the ground and nurturing it to exit. Well done to the entire team; a testament to Melbourne’s global-reaching tech startups.”
