As technology continues to redefine the property landscape, YBF Ventures is joining with Honeywell Building Technologies to develop a proptech communityto shape the future of innovation in the building automation industry.

Honeywell PropTech Hub

YBF designs and develops bespoke solutions to supercharge innovation for Australia’s largest corporates. The new PropTech Hub efforts, which will be based out of YBF’s newly-opened coworking space in Sydney, will be a source of customer engagement for Honeywell. The hub will also create another way to address unmet customer challenges with innovative solutions through collaboration with startups.

With the PropTech Hub providing a coworking space for the startups at YBF Sydney at 155 Clarence Street, it will provide the opportunity for startups to be immersed within the tech community.

Startups in the proptech space will be charged with bringing agility and speed to complement Honeywell’s expertise in software and solution development. An ecosystem will be created that can address a broader array of challenges across critical environments.

YBF’s Established Hubs

YBF has an established history of pioneering and advancing Australia’s technology-focused entrepreneurial ecosystem and is home to some of the country’s most successful innovation hubs: YBF in Melbourne launched the city’s first and largest fintech hub in partnership with the Victorian Government and opened the world’s first Web 3.0 hub in partnership with the Federal Government in 2018. In 2019, YBF partnered with contemporary law firm, Lander & Rogers on the LawTech Hub — a first for Australia.

YBF x Honeywell Partnership

“Working with an iconic global brand like Honeywell on YBF’s first proptech hub is fantastic. The Honeywell PropTech Hub will be joining a group of powerful federal and state government-backed initiatives,” said YBF’s CEO, Farley Blackman.

“Leading innovation for Australia is our number one remit at YBF and relationships such as these are foundational. As we’ve just opened our first site in Sydney, I can’t think of a better way to inaugurate the space.”

Two innovation cycles will take place per year, engaging with and collaborating with four property-focused startups.
